Update: July 2024: Capitol renovations are complete. Scott T. tells me, “The bell has been removed from the Capitol grounds, and a worker at the Archives said she saw the bell in one of the areas in the back, and it’s assumed to be under refurbishment (as of late July 2024).

The bell has been removed from the capitol grounds (renovations to the captiol are completed now). A worker at the Archives said she saw the bell in one of the areas in the back and it’s assumed to be under refurbishment (as of late July 2024).
